Too much of refined carbohydrates in processed foods leads to weight gain. It may steady the blood glucose levels too. When there aren’t sufficient carbohydrates in the body, it begins to burn fatty acids. Atkins diet is basically an improvement of this diet. High protein low calorie diet allows obese patients to burn body fat for energy without endangering their health — and maintain a stable blood sugar level, which helps them avoid diabetes and hyperglycemia. High protein low calorie diet is important because your muscles are made of protein and it balances the carbohydrates with the protein and fat to get the dieter as slim as they wish without ever starving or eating celery and carrot sticks. However, there has been some concern from the opponents of this High protein diet that such diets can exacerbate a declining renal function. Some researchers found that in people who had normal kidney function, there was no link between high-protein diets and a decline in renal function.
